We require an experienced or trainee Cataloguer who will classify and prepare bibliographic records to support our Shelf Ready and Book Selection services.

You will be involved in sourcing electronic records (from library catalogues and other external databases), original cataloguing, and amending existing records to customer specifications.

As an experienced Cataloguer, we would require experience in either UKMARC or MARC21 and competency in classification in either Dewey Decimal Classification or LC Classification. Experience of allocating LC subject headings would also be an advantage.

As a trainee applicant, we would require some experience of working in the library industry and, therefore, a basic understanding of classification and cataloguing schemes.
