We require both experienced and trainee cataloguers who will classify and prepare bibliographic records to support our Shelf Ready and Book Selection products.

You will be involved in sourcing electronic records from library catalogues and other external databases, original cataloguing, and amending existing records to customer specifications.

As a cataloguer, we would require experience in either MARC 21 or UKMARC and competency in classification in either Dewey Decimal Classification or LC Classification.  Experience of allocating LC subject headings would also be an advantage.

As a trainee applicant, we would require some experience of working in the library industry and, therefore, a basic understanding of classification and cataloguing schemes.
