COUTTS completes the acquisition of John Smith & Son (Glasgow) Ltd. Coutts Information Services Ltd. has recently completed an agreement to purchase John Smith & Son (Glasgow) Ltd. The acquisition of this highly regarded, 250 year-old library wholesaler places the Coutts group in a much stronger position within the specialty and academic library wholesale market. Coutts is better equipped to provide the superior service demanded by its customers, and the Company is well positioned to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving market. In the short term, the priority is to ensure that library supply customers of Coutts and John Smith’s are kept informed of developments and that there are no interruptions to services. Ultimately, the combination of the strength of these two companies, together with focused investment, will result in even better delivery times, online information and enhanced shelf-ready services.
