Swets Blackwell and Coutts swap Martinus Nijhoff books for John Smith’s subscriptions Today Coutts Library Services Ltd acquired the books division of Martinus Nijhoff International from Swets Blackwell and, as part of the agreement Swets take over the John Smith’s journal subscription business from the Coutts Group. Swets is the world’s largest provider of subscription and information management solutions allowing the John Smith’s journal subscription division to fit in comfortably with its current business. Coutts will strengthen its international library supply business with the acquisition of Martinus Nijhoff. In the short term, the priority for both Coutts and Swets is to ensure that customers are kept informed of developments and there are no disruptions to services. Ultimately, the agreement enables both companies to focus on providing their customers with better services in their respective areas of expertise.
